Description
Jake is a Shifter, a man rumored to transform into a monster if his true nature isn't suppressed by pills.
His only chance to prove that he isn't a threat to society and deserves a normal life lies in discovering the location of a lost shipwreck, a "Davy Jones' Locker", packed to the brim with toxic ammunition.
On the secluded island of Druth, not far from the Orkney Archipelago, Jake finds something else instead.
Daemon is a merman Shifter, an apex predator of the sea and one of the last of his kind.
Five years ago, Daemon and his friends escaped human imprisonment, and he is not interested in attracting strangers to the island.
Jake, that handsome, enthusiastic marine archeologist - and his quest to find a lost shipwreck - could become Daemon's ally or his greatest threat.
Should Daemon play it safe and eat the intruder, or should he let him live and risk all he fought for?
All that Jake knows is that Daemon is a territorial Shifter who hates intruders and wants him off the island.
Who wants to be around a man like that anyway, when Jake can as well spend his time with the merman he discovered in that grotto the other day? A merman who doesn't speak, not with words. But he is kind and loving and hasn't left Jake's side since he went on his dives for the lost shipwreck.
Will Jake and Daemon ever find peace, or will Jake rather tame his seamonster? And what will happen once Jake learns about Daemon's secret?
