Description
"Simons excels at amusingly juxtaposing his protagonists' shenanigans against the alleged decorum and religiosity of the school... fans of boys-will-be-boys hijinks will surely enjoy these yarns. An entertaining bildungsroman filled with truancy, toxicity, and bravado." -- Kirkus Reviews
Savannah Blue is a nostalgic comedy about two teens forging their paths as they navigate the void of their senior year. Harrison and Delli attend a 120-year-old all-boys catholic military high school in the low country during the tail end of a shameless era that could never exist in today's climate. Although they have already endured their pledgeships, they do not reap their seniority benefits because of a cultural shift within the school. Harrison and Delli rebel, desperately trying to hold onto the dissolving old-world traditions their school had previously instilled. As a result, they discover life's sobering truths at an early age.
