EAST WITH THE DRAGON
Having moved all the way from Kansas to Washington State with his family, Chris finds himself friendless in a new town and harassed by the school bullies. Fortunately, he finds a haven in some nearby woods and finally a friend in their self-appointed guardian -- a bow-carrying girl with a Robin Hood complex named Deidre.

"You know," he said, "the Hill is the only place in this whole stupid town where I feel at home."

Together, they encounter a group of aging heroes who after a terrible battle are exiled from their home world where magic actually works. Now Chris and Deidre are drawn into the ancient conflict against the exiles' evil nemesis who is now a threat to both worlds. If he finds the lost magical artifact that he seeks, both worlds could suffer the destruction and darkness he brings with his desire for power and revenge.
