Description
"There was a serial killer treating the entire state of Washington as their personal hunting grounds, and nobody knew about it."
Detective Eli Knight has worked for the Seattle Police Department for nearly ten years, most of those years as a homicide detective. During that time, he uncovered what he believes is evidence of a serial killer who hunts the worst of the worst. The problem is that nobody believes him.
His partner and captain both want him to move on, to let go of the idea of the killer, but Eli has never been good at letting things go. The lack of support does nothing to dissuade him, though. If anything, it makes him more obsessed with the serial killer only he believes exists.
Risking his reputation and, at times, his job, Eli has pursued leads and compiled evidence of all of the potential victims of this killer. Having to hide this from his boss, he also sacrifices any personal life he might have. Despite his hard work and limited resources, he's never found one shred of evidence pointing to who the killer might be or even enough to prove the killer's existence to others. He only ever finds more potential victims.
When some hikers find a body on a trail outside of Seattle, Eli puts his obsession aside to join forces with the FBI on the murder case. Or at least, he tries to put it aside, until he finds out that he's not the only one who's been tracking his serial killer.
As this new spree killer leaves more and more bodies around the state, Eli finds himself in a tug of war between the team of FBI agents that are keeping secrets from him and a boss that despises him.
At least he can distract himself with his past coming back to haunt him?
