In the past, Victoria and Anthony grew up in the small town of Chestnut Creek, Illinois as best friends. On the night of their high school graduation, Anthony admits he's in love with Victoria. Over that summer the two develop a romantic relationship that's tested by her college plans and unexpected grief.

In the present, Victoria comes back to Chestnut Creek for her father's funeral. During an unexpected meeting in the middle of the largest blizzard the town has seen in years, Victoria and Anthony come back together for the two weeks surrounding Christmas and New Year's. In those two weeks the two explore each other through the lens of growth and grief.
