World War III will be the war of the submarine.
Undersea technology has changed the world, and every nation wants territory. No one wants war -- or plans for it -- but a series of unrelated incidents, mix-ups, and greedy grabs for ocean-floor real estate escalates straight into a shooting war that no one knows how to stop... one that engulfs the Indian Ocean and threatens to spill out towards the rest of the world.

But when war comes knocking, he might just be the reluctant hero the U.S. Navy needs. With a boat old enough to drink and a crew a few beers short of a six pack, no one expects him to make a difference... until the enemy gets a vote.
