As a decorated Air Force pilot, my father instilled in me a sense of duty and honor. He served his country just like his father before him, but unlike his father before him, his service cost him his life and took him away from me too soon. However, he left me pieces of him through his journal of life lessons, which he wrote just for me.
My dreams were to fly jets and, later, commercial airplanes. As a black female officer, I was on track to be the best pilot the military had ever seen until I met an alluring stranger.
My goals took a detour, but I fought for my way back. The only problem is I can't forget those vivid blue eyes, so damn blue they rival the bluest sky.
