At Shapes Academy, the Big Blue Circle is struggling to learn a valuable life lesson. With the help of his friend, he is able to have a breakthrough moment. Come join these colorful shapes in this anti-bullying children's book which helps young children develop skills of empathy and learn the importance of kindness.
The author, Rebecca Almeida, is an Early Childhood Teacher and Certified Meditation and Mindfulness Teacher. She is creating a book-series for toddlers that focuses on social-emotional skills, kindness, empathy, mindfulness, etc. This is the first book of her series. Look out for her next release: "Being Mindful Is Cool"
What makes this book unique? The author has realized there are children's books that have valuable lessons but once the book is done being read to the child.. these lessons aren't really discussed in ways with the child in order to deepen their understanding of such topics. For this reason, "Being Kind Is Cool" ends with "Reflection Prompts" for both teachers and parents to guide their discussions with their child/ students. Added Bonus: After the "Reflection Prompts", there are Coloring Pages!
Learning Concepts found in the Book:
- primary colors
- basic shapes
- comparison of sizes
- social/ emotional skills
- showing kindness towards classmates (accepting differences)
- enhancing children's empathy skills
