Description

From the mind of a psychologists comes a sharply observed portrait of a couple hurtling towards a future upon which they increasingly disagree.
... She stood in front of the mirror and studied her flushed, red cheeks, the scarf tucked under her skin, the lines in her face that had perhaps become a little deeper over the past year -all of it showed that she was no longer thirsty. She was getting older. Just as all women did, from the day they were born. The countdown started then...

Fredrik and Hanne are in their late thirties and trying to get pregnant. If they don't have children, their family lines will end with them. But while all Hanne wants is to be a mother, Fredrik mostly just wishes he could turn back time... THE BREEDING PIG is a novel about the consequences of trying to force one's partner down a path not of their choosing - about major life decisions, and the importance of making them for yourself.

Despite being a debut novel I think this book is better than books with a similar theme and structure that I have read by well-established authors.
ANTON AND JAMES BOOKSTORE

Ringseth deals with a topic not much talked about often associated with shame. The author does it all in an entertaining and light-hearted way that makes it worth picking up.
AFTENBLADET NEWSPAPER

This perspective shift is as interesting as it is important. A new challenge and reminder to design and not default our lives.
