High strangeness in a little town.

The coastal town of Gehenna, Wisconsin is known for its lighthouse, its silver mines, and its friendly people. Right before Summer break in 1973, the people of Gehenna fall victim to a series of devastating (un)natural disasters. As the death toll piles higher, one family is brought to the brink of fracture when they're visited by a pair of interdimensional entities who promise them safety in exchange of adopting their daughter -- a furry, winged, alien.
