Description

Joy is still shaken by her encounter with her birth father and is suffering from nightmares of when she was abandoned as a child. Billy is very concerned about her especially since she is pregnant with their second child. Hildie is doing her best to comfort and support her.

Joy's birth parents, Beulah and Jed Johnson, are still in West Sacramento where Jed is serving time in jail for his deplorable behavior at the concert and being drunk in public. Beulah is trying to survive while Jed serves his time... searching for food that has been discarded from the local cafe. When Jed finally gets out of jail, he runs into a dirty tramp who claims he has information on Joy and Henry... and they agree to meet him outside of town to discuss what he knows. Beulah is shocked by the terrible way she is treated by both Jed and a man named Oggie and secretly vows to get even with both of them.

Another month has slipped by and slowly Joy begins to recover. Her little Benny is turning 3 years old along with Darla's daughter, Emma. They plan to have a joint birthday party... and little do they know, Joy's former kidnapper, Oggie, is lurking in the shadows at the mercantile learning all about their upcoming plans. He and Jed plan to interrupt the birthday celebration with some hopeful profitable plans of their own!
