Description
Rebecca (Beck) Winslow is living a dream. Her long-lost best friend from childhood, TJ, returned to her life in the spring semester of her junior college year, and they fell hard for each other. Now, Beck and TJ get to spend the rest of the year together, all the while planning for their future after college.
Meanwhile, Beck and her mom, Suzanne, are trying to mend their relationship while she and TJ work to gain Suzanne's approval. But they're not making any leeway for reasons neither of them can understand. What is holding Suzanne back from embracing TJ, and what is she hiding? Suzanne has never been an open book, but through the pages of her journal, her life unfolds through memories of love, loss, and a struggle to move forward.
As Beck works to figure out the missing pieces, an unexpected diagnosis halts any forward momentum, and Beck is desperate to know more about her mother's past before it's too late.
What should be the start of Beck and TJ's new journey as lovers takes a turn, forcing a separation and a new reality, as answers from the past surface and leave their relationship hanging in the balance. How will Beck and TJ overcome it all to get back to their true promise of forever?
About the Author
Margie Janes is an Amazon best-selling author and the 3x first-place winner of The BookFest Awards for her debut, new adult romance True Companion.
Margie grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and graduated from Eastern Illinois University, where she met her husband, Bill, before earning a master's degree from Olivet Nazarene University. Now an elementary school teacher, she is fortunate to spend her days teaching, connecting with, learning from, and entertaining a room full of 9-year-olds.
Margie began writing True Companion at the age of thirteen after being inspired by Phil Colin's 1990 music video "Do You Remember?" The video features a girl and a boy who instantly connect and create a friendship until they are separated by an event. True Companion is not your ordinary girl-meets-boy novel. Margie crafted this novel over thirty years, writing from a child's perspective when Beck was a little girl, a college student's perspective, when Beck was in college, and a mother's perspective when she wrote the parts of Suzanne and Janet.
True Promise is the continuation of True Companion and picks up where Beck and TJ's story left off. Margie loves reading, writing, watching movies, traveling with friends and family, cheering at her kids' sporting activities, and playing with her rescue pup, Skyler.
