Mali, who is the youngest, always felt a little disconnected from her siblings. Mali is also a bartender at Egypt's bar and lounge called KEM, where she meets the infamous Chaquille Wilson, who is known as Roast in the streets.
Chaquille, who is ruthless and the certified boss of the illegal gambling spot called the Cut House, has always been intrigued by Mali from the moment he met her, but she never gave into his advances. Mali felt he was too street for her, even though she found him to be very handsome and would get all hot and bothered in his presence.
One night, Mali is basically forced to spend time with Chaquille. From that point on, they are inseparable and begin a love affair that has them in a world of their own until a situation arises. Charles decides the family will pull one last lick, which causes Mali's love for Chaquille to become a dangerous one. She has to choose between him and loyalty to her family. What will she do? Escape into the pages of this wild, literary ride where emotions run high to see if there is any honor among thieves.
