Description
Troubled loner, Ruth "Ghosty" Harrison, is the glue keeping the unpredictable Harrison family from completely fracturing. Known and scorned for having the ability to 'see the dead', Ruth tries to keep out of trouble by avoiding the people in her local village. However, it's a difficult task with a drunk grandfather and a mother who disappears every time things get tough. Ruth seems to take life's complications in her stride, until the return of Ryan Donnelly, whose sudden interest brings out the worst in Ruth.
To complicate things further, her unpeaceful life is about to become even more troubled when her job at the local restoration and antique shop is affected by her boss's recent acquisition of a precious locket. The discovery triggers Ruth's abilities as well as the attention of a local detective investigating the disappearance of a young girl. Detective Darragh O'Leary is left wondering whether Ruth's talents are brilliantly orchestrated, or whether she is a bona fide psychic. Either way, he wants to put her talents to the test to solve an old murder, no matter how reticent the young woman is.
The spirits also have an agenda of their own and begin to visit Ruth for help, despite her refusal. Drawn in after the recent murder of a woman from her local village, Ruth realises she must embrace the gift she was born with, giving restless spirits a chance of peace, while she comes to terms with a past that still troubles her.
Set in the stony, mysterious heartland of the Burren in County Clare, Ireland, The Outcast's Sight is a paranormal and romantic story of a young woman seeking peace and normality in a world rampant with spirits, murder and complications.
