Description
Robert Dawson was raised in a small town in rural Illinois in the '60s and '70s. He had a close-knit family that included an uncle who was a World War II bomber pilot and instilled in Bob a love of aviation.
From early childhood, he had a sense of another place, something before he was born. As he grew up, some events and moments seemed to touch him from another time. His uncle teaching him to fly as a teenager seemed to heighten it all, in time pointing to England and aviation. Still an unknown, it was something for Bob, his girlfriend, and his father to talk about occasionally, to debate a possible past life experience or reincarnation.
After a traumatic event in his life led to severe PTSD, he began to have dreams of a life as a Royal Air Force fighter pilot from World War II. Those dreams of combat and fear far greater than he knew in his own life, along with the example of overcoming those fears, began to help him come back.
With help from his family, a chaplain, a sweet romance with the love of his life, and dreams of this mentor or guardian angel, he was able to turn his life back around. The man who Bob would come to simply call 'Pilot' survived the war and, in an intense final dream, shared with Bob his last flight -- a commercial aircraft test flight that crashed, killing the crew.
Knowing Pilot's final thoughts of his family as the plane was going down, Bob had a desire to return the favor by finding that family to share with them their father's final moments.
But how? Armed only with impressions from the dreams and other déjà vu moments, Bob and his wife set out on a quest to first find Pilot, then the family, and somehow share Pilot's last flight with them.
