Description

Why has Mike been feeling so low? Why was he on top of the world just months ago? What will he do to get that high back?

Mike Fontaine thought a new start would fix everything. A door-to-door sales gig, 400 miles from home, seemed like the perfect escape. He never expected the cure for his slump to be blood.

In one world, he's the frontman of a psychedelic hardcore band. In the other, he's a serial killer. Every time the band releases a record, someone dies.

This is one of those records.

"Grandmas beware! Killer Mike and the Blood Slugs are back in town!! Matthew Jon Smith has found a great Horror niche with his Killer Mike character! Let's hope for more Mike adventures! It's like the carnival ride you just want to ride over and over again!! And LOVE them slugs!!"
- Jim Donohue, Author of Ramona

"I'm sorry to say we're passing on 'Killer Mike and the Blood Slugs.'
We don't publish music reviews, and I don't know how
[Carnage House] wound up on your radar for this."
- Josh Darling, Editor in Chief of Carnage House

"If you love your grandma, this will read like a punch to the suck hole. If you hate your grandma, you'll feel like you just punched HER in the suck hole. Regardless of your feelings about grandmas, it'll be a moist ride."
-B.S. Miller, Author of A Glimpse of Fear

Liner Notes: After the incident during the Spring Break of '89, Mike didn't really exist anymore; the only thing left was his blissful, nauseating high, and this worked for him quite well. Without being there, without getting in the way, school was now effortless, and he even had a brief stint of popularity. At six months, the high started to dwindle, and he could feel himself creeping in; could feel himself getting in the way. After another six months, he started losing friends. Before long, his motivation and grades fell to lows worse than before... Before what? Mike could sense a hole where a memory should be. He ended up dropping out of college, much to the chagrin of his parents, and moved into a cheap studio apartment that was only a few miles from the family home, using what he had left of his college tutoring money as a down payment on the place. The whole situation had him down, and he knew he needed a job. In April of '91, Mike answered an ad that he found in the Shikaakwa Moon that said, "Looking for young people who want to make a lot of money and travel at the same time." During the phone call, the only questions the person that Mike now knew was the boss asked him were, "Do you have a car?" and, "Have you ever worked sales before?" He was pretty sure they would have hired him no matter what he answered to that second question, and when they told him where to go, Mike drove the 400 miles to the south suburbs of the Twin Cities the very next day. Now, after a couple of weeks working that new job...
