Description

'Terrific. A book that's big in every sense... rich in detail and written with passion it lives on in the memory. I loved it.' Sarah Harrison, author of The Flowers of the Field

Betrayed, broken and alone -- she must rebuild her life, one harvest at a time.

South Africa, 1940s. Anna van Achtenburgh has always lived a life of privilege on her family's grand estate in the heart of Cape Town. Raised in comfort and surrounded by luxury, her future has always seemed secure -- until she falls for the wrong man.

Rugged, red-haired farmer Simon Smit is everything Anna's parents disapprove of, and yet everything she feels drawn to.

Their forbidden love becomes a secret, an intoxicating affair that ignites a passion neither can ignore. Until her parents find out. They disown her, leading to Simon abandoning her.

Pregnant and penniless, Anna is determined to survive, selling silk dresses and transforming a crumbled homestead.
But the land is as unforgiving as the love she's lost.

Then Simon returns to upend her life, pouring salt on old wounds. Will Anna let the past define her, or will she build a future stronger than the love that once broke her?

This sweeping family saga is perfect for fans of Kristin Hannah, Lucinda Riley, Heather Morris, Kate Quinn and Susan Meissner.

Praise for SUMMER HARVEST:

'Anna van Achtenburgh mirrors the strengths and the weaknesses of her beautiful, harsh country: the toughness, the dazzling material success, the moral dilemmas, the tragedy. I was gripped from start to finish.' Kate Alexander, author of Friends and Enemies.

????? 'The lessons learnt to reach not just financial success, but to feel totally fulfilled -- to love without fear... A+.'

????? 'SUMMER HARVEST is a family saga in the finest tradition.'
