Description
Aiden became interested in prepping after accidentally discovering PAW (Post-Apocalyptic World) fiction. He read short stories and novels that ranged from likely events such as an economic collapse to events as unlikely as a zombie apocalypse or the incursion of a wandering supermassive black hole. In response to those stories, he decided to embark on a journey of general preparation for nonspecific but more likely events. He used the "rule of threes" to guide his prepping. The rule of threes states that a person could survive three minutes without air, three hours without shelter, three days without water and three weeks without food.
When Aiden suddenly found himself in the middle of a grid-down event he thought he was ready. Only after a fortuitous encounter with Ava did he realize that he had overlooked one vital factor. He had no allies. Surviving alone would not only be difficult; it would also be meaningless. The appearance of a violent organization bent on destroying civilization made recruiting allies not only essential but also urgent.
