Description
Clementine Trussel has recently discovered that she is not entirely human, and that magic now answers to her in unexpected ways.
Unfortunately, magic is a subject her friend and mentor, Mr Gout, appears deeply uncomfortable discussing, let alone encouraging. In search of answers, they travel to London to consult an old acquaintance of Mr Gout's, an academic with an unsettling interest in obscure magical groups and half-forgotten rituals.
Their enquiries soon return to the Green Lily, a shadowy organisation that has lingered at the edges of Trussel and Gout's investigations from the very beginning. Information, however, proves difficult to obtain, particularly when their host's own affairs are far from orderly.
As plans unravel and tensions rise, Trussel begins to suspect that they may have walked into something far more complicated than a quiet exchange of knowledge, and that leaving may not be quite as simple as arriving.
Werewolves in the Kitchen, Vampires at the Door is the fifth instalment in Trussel & Gout: Paranormal Investigations, a cosy supernatural mystery series filled with eccentric characters, gentle humour, and strange situations where curiosity often leads to trouble -- and discretion arrives a little too late.
This is a short, cosy read of approximately three hours.
