Description

John Noble flies East in his latest adventure! Perfect for fans of Derek Robinson, James Holland, Frank Barnard and Jack Higgins.

A new alliance is forming...

1941

From providing air cover against large numbers of German attackers at Dunkirk to battling the never-ending waves of Luftwaffe aircraft at the Battle of Britain, 415 Squadron have been making their mark.

And though many in the squadron have not survived, so far John Noble has been lucky.

But now, everything is about to change.

Germany has signed an agreement with Japan and in response the Royal Navy is moving some of its major capital assets to Singapore, in case the Japanese try to expand their influence into Malaya or the Dutch East Indies.

The RAF stationed there is being reinforced with a couple of squadrons from the Australians and New Zealanders, but they currently do not have any pilots experienced in warfare.

Which is why John finds himself suddenly separated from his comrades and sent on a mission halfway around the world.

But faced with incompetent leaders and hopelessly inadequate aircraft - not to mention a completely unfamiliar climate - John finds his mission much harder than he expected.

Can he find his way back to Britain? Will he return to his squadron?

Or will the war in the East cause his luck to finally run out... ?

DESPAIR AND TRIUMPH is the third book in the John Noble Fighter Ace Thrillers series: action-packed military adventures following an RAF pilot during the Second World War.
