At the Dawn of the Age of Synthetic Humans the destinies of four powerful Robotic Humans collide in a Seattle ravaged by an environmental collapse that killed one half of the carbon-based life forms on earth, including Biological Humans, and triggered a crackdown by Synthetic Humans to save the planet.

Each of these Robotic Humans has an agenda that becomes entangled with a young biological human family struggling to rebuild their lives and make decisions about converting their children to Synthetic Humans to ensure their survival.

The parents in the young family are stranded in the collapse and finally make their way back to their children two years later, only to find that the coexistence of Biological Humans and Synthetic Humans has grown more complex and difficult and they must decide their children's future even as they try to come to terms with a secret that could tear their family apart.
