"A thrilling tale about soldiers and the mission. Recommended for fans of James Holland and Damien Lewis." Thomas Waugh
Holland, October 1944.
Operation Market Garden has ended in failure.
Days after evacuating across the river with the encircled British 1st Airborne Division, Sergeant Sean Harris and his exhausted band of brothers are once more thrown into the fray.
Having recovered documents detailing a secret Nazi facility in northern Holland, producing a synthetic fuel that could significantly increase the range of the V-2 rockets terrorising southern England, Harris and his team are parachuted deep into enemy territory. There they are to link up with Jan Mesman and Johanna van der Molen of the Dutch resistance, both determined to play their part following the brutal execution of two of their comrades.
Their mission: to destroy the production plant before the Germans can transport the fuel to the rockets.
Joining Harris and his team of resolute and experienced paratroopers are Lieutenant Chris Tasker of the Special Operations Executive, SAS demolitions expert, Tony Bromilow, and special forces radio operator "Sherry" Miskelly, all seasoned veterans of behind the lines operations.
In Berlin, Gestapo chief Heinrich Müller assigns one of his top men, Heini Böhmer, along with two companies of battle-hardened Waffen-SS, to increase security at the site.
With the clock ticking and Böhmer hot on his trail, Harris must face one of his toughest tests yet - to complete the mission, avoid capture, and get everyone out alive.
