Description
As He Loved
Let your love be true, and not disguised -
Not just in words, but in will and deed.
With open hands and seeing eyes,
Let your mercy move, and justice lead.
Be patient when the road is long,
Be kind when tempers burn and flare.
Don't fight to prove that you are strong -
But share the burdens others bear.
Let your love be present, calm, and kind,
Not boastful, proud, or based on gain.
Feel no envy in your mind,
Nor find delight in others' pain.
Rejoice in truth, not whispered lies;
Forgive before the wound has dried.
Be slow to speak, and quick to rise,
When others fall, or flee, or hide.
Love suffers much, but e'er gives hope;
It shines beyond the blackest night.
It builds, it gives, it gently weaves -
A world redeemed by selfless light.
So, love your neighbor as your own,
And love the ones who bring you pain.
For with such love, His heart has shown -
That the cross He bore was not in vain.
