Description
When her fiance died suddenly one spring day, and she found him, her world changed. Grief Body by Natalie Wise, called "unforgettable" "raw, haunting" and "wow, a whole new level" by readers, is a fine art poetry book for the things we can't speak.Anger, emptiness, despair, it's all there on the page. So, too, is the "becoming again."
These poems delve into the act of grieving, the physical manifestations of it and the mental permutations - the bad decisions, darkest inclinations, and the deep, deep pain of moving forward. This is not a book that will heal you. It will sit with you in the grief, and let you "get deep in your being / get down on all fours / groan out guttural grief / must purge it somehow / must apologize to the dead / for getting up and going."
Each page offers an honest truth, not to fix you, but to sit with you and say: you're not the only one.
