Description
ODE TO TALES is an anthology featuring spine-tingling horror/mystery/thriller stories. It consists of six short stories:
1. The Living Dead: Tina had been counting down the days to her anniversary, brimming with joy and plans. But two nights before the celebration, she vanished. When her husband, Raman, reported her missing, the police found her in a desolate alley no one dared to cross. She came home alive -- but changed. The once vibrant, laughing Tina is now lying like a corpse. What happened in that lane remains locked inside her -- was it a random act of cruelty, or did something far darker stalk her that day? Because some secrets don't just scar... they follow.
2. Planchette: After a late-night planchette, five friends -- Rishi, Kavya, Deb, Mini, and Rahul -- laugh off the idea of spirits and head out to dinner. But the night takes a strange turn when a mysterious girl approaches their table. She speaks of the afterlife as if she's been there, her words unsettling, her eyes far too knowing. None of them believe her -- until, in the middle of their disbelief, she vanishes into thin air. Who was she? And if she was real... then what followed them?
3. The Irony: What begins as a joke ends as a question no one dares to answer. Rohit faked his death to force Priya's confession. It was a game -- until the way he said he would die starts happening. Little accidents. Strange coincidences. Was it a coincidence, a cruel copycat, or something answering the words they once threw into the dark?
4. Nocturnal: As Raju bent to pick up a stick, the flickering streetlight caught his eye. The old man beside him cast no reflection in the water. Then came the grin. The cackle. Who is this old man -- spirit, demon, or something far worse?
5. Knock Knock Knock: For over an hour, the relentless knocking pounded through Joe's hotel room, each thud fraying her nerves. But when she stormed toward the door, ready to unleash her fury, a horrifying realization struck -- the knocking wasn't coming from the door. So where was it coming from?
6. Ambika: When the news of a missing man flashes across the screen, Sunil wonders if it's just another tragedy. But Ambika knows better. For her, it isn't news -- it's justice long overdue. Their daughter's absence has haunted every corner of the house. The world turned away. The law failed. But a mother never forgets. For her little girl, she has only one promise left to keep: Monsters don't walk away. Not when a mother is watching.
Prepare yourself for a heart-pounding journey through various shades of fear and suspense.
Tropes include vampires, Ouija boards, déjà vu, nightmares, haunted wardrobes, societal horror, eerie backdrops, deserted streets, and haunted nights.
