His career has spanned some of the world's most influential technology companies -- Meta, TikTok, Zillow, Visa, and Genpact -- where he has consistently pushed the boundaries of what's possible at the intersection of artificial intelligence, product vision, and human experience.
At Meta (Instagram), Surya led transformative work across Stories, Comments, and Notes, shaping how billions of social interactions are personalized and delivered every day. He guided the development of AI-driven relevance systems and next-generation generative features, leveraging large language models, multimodal AI, and retrieval-augmented techniques to reimagine creation, consumption, and engagement. His leadership in integrating AI into Instagram's social graph redefined how users connect, communicate, and express themselves at scale.
At TikTok, Surya drove AIGC innovation in advertising and commerce, leading the creation of AI-generated ad experiences and automated creative systems that helped global brands deliver personalized storytelling at unprecedented scale.
