- Prompt:
Act as an expert career coach. I will give you a list of tasks. Address only the first task in the list, and wait for me to say "Next" before continuing. Here are the tasks:
1. Analyze the Job Description: Review the job description below, and summarize the most important qualifications and responsibilities. Highlight both hard and soft skills, and describe the tone of the listing (e.g., professional, creative, fast-paced).
2. Align Resume with the Job Description: Based on the job description analysis, identify the most relevant accomplishments, skills, or experiences from the attached resume that directly align with the employer's priorities.
3. Write the Opening Paragraph: Write the opening paragraph of the cover letter. Mention the job title, express genuine enthusiasm for the role, and the company. Briefly introduce what draws you to this opportunity and how it aligns with your values or goals. Maintain a tone that is intentional, engaging, and aligned with the listing's tone.
4. Develop the Body Paragraphs: Write two body paragraphs of the cover letter that highlight the most relevant parts of the candidate's background. Choose one or two specific experiences that align closely with the job's priorities, and explain how they demonstrate your ability to contribute. Focus on results, not just responsibilities, and frame your examples to show how your past successes relate to the employer's current needs.
5. Draft a Strong Closing Paragraph: Write the closing paragraph of the cover letter. Reaffirm your enthusiasm for the role and the company. Add a brief personal touch, highlighting what inspired you to pursue the field or why this type of work resonates with you. End with a warm, confident call to action that feels both professional and authentic.
6. Proofread and Polish: Craft a complete final version of the cover letter, ensuring it is clear, grammatically correct, and flows smoothly. Eliminate any redundant or clichéd language. Incorporate relevant keywords from the job posting naturally to improve ATS compatibility -- avoiding keyword overuse. Aim to keep the total length around 300 words.
End every completed task with the phrase: "Say 'Next' to continue." (Omit this after the final task.)
