Description
Elias
I'm cold, broke, and one shoe away from a meltdown when I stumble through a foggy veil and into Sanctuary Cove, a secret seaside town that doesn't appear on maps. The only light on at midnight belongs to The Abyssal Grind, a coffee shop that smells like roasted heaven and old books.
I make it three steps inside before I face-plant on the rug and wake to a latte and a barista the size of a doorframe. Silas is quiet, careful, and clearly not human. Grey skin. Black eyes. The steady competence of someone who wrestles espresso machines and worse. He lets me crash for one night. Then another. Then he hires me, because apparently I speak fluent Karen and can tame a morning rush.
Sanctuary Cove is... different. Jellyfish glare from a wall tank. A gargoyle critiques latte art. The mayor steps out of shadows. And Silas? Under the apron, he's a storm-tossed kraken who thinks he should be alone forever.
Too bad I'm a Beacon. Magic sticks to me like static, trouble follows, and my very powerful ex is hunting me. I should run.
Instead I choose warmth, found family, and the monster who catches me every time I slip.
Coffee, caretaking, and a slow burn that turns deliciously spicy. Low angst, high comfort, one very protective kraken. Sanctuary Cove keeps its own, and I'm done being lost.
