Description
In 1864 as the fields of Georgia burn, an enslaved nanny murders a family of slave-owners and flees, leaving only a blood-spattered satchel of herbs behind. At least, that's what most folks in the small, secretive town believe. Two young sisters, survivors of the murders, are the only ones who know the truth. As the Confederacy collapses and the ghosts of the past return to haunt them, the sisters will risk everything to survive -- even making a deal with dark spirits.
More than a century later, a young woman accepts a job at the crumbling Southern estate while trying to get some space from her overprotective immigrant family. Not even the home's reputation for a deadly curse can deter her. After a voice whispers "Blood to bind" in her ear, she finds the mark of the curse burned across her throat. Amina must unearth the truth about the century-old murders or risk losing her life -- and her soul. But she doesn't know that an even darker secret lies buried, and the vengeful spirit guarding it still hungers for revenge.
