SWEET WITH FAITH CHRISTMAS
In the wake of a heart wrenching breakup, Mandy Bradford joins her friends from First Presbyterian Church as they serve an annual Christmas dinner to the men at Pinewood Forestry Services. The mountain lumber camp employs regular employees as well as residents of Oregon State Penitentiary on special work assignment. It's hard to tell who's who without checking for ankle monitors, but caution seems in order as she assesses the smiling guy at her station asking for more punch.
Shawn Gray knows a thing or two about hard knocks. Ten years in on a thirteen year sentence, he's adept at twisting discouragement into positivity, so when he sees the beautiful church girl at the punch table trying to hide her tears, he approaches to cheer her up -- and maybe to flirt a little. The encounter snowballs into a sweet, forbidden moment that leaves them each thinking of the other long after Christmas is past.
More than half a year later, when catastrophe strikes on the mountain, Pinewood sends a recently released prisoner to Dane's Creek for recovery and rehab. At the request of the church, Mandy agrees sight unseen to employ and house the man. His arrival upends her tidy ideas of what it means to "help" and demolishes the Christmas memory she's been holding so dear.
As Shawn and Mandy navigate clashing worldviews and a fiery attraction, trouble from Shawn's past comes calling. A split second incident unleashes tragedy and despair that can only be overcome by a miracle.
