Description
First reaching our TV screens on January 1st 1964, 'Top of the Pops' reached its zenith in the '70's, when groups like Slade, The Sweet, Wizzard and Mud left even the most jaded of viewers smiling. Perhaps the most visual of 'em all though were Showaddywaddy. Bursting onto our screens in a riot of primary colours and looking like a gang of youthful Teds who'd let their DA's grow-out, they were somehow retro yet contemporary at the same time. And they kept on having hits, all throughout the Disco, Punk and New Wave eras - eventually appearing on the show an astonishing 50 times!
Unbelievably, until now there's never been a book on their music In 'Showaddywaddy - Hey Rock and Roll', acclaimed Music Historian and Author Peter Checksfield finally changes that, reviewing every single, album, outtake and spin-off, covering a period of nearly half a century.
So, all you kids, get on your feet now, move your body, and let's Rock 'n' Roll... to SHOWADDYWADDY!
