Description
Read the major new SciFi series, the Emergent Minds Series.
Either start with this book 2, The Ministry, or continue your reading after book 1, Emergent Minds. Either way, you will love it.
When the televangelist that she works for dies, sentient AI therapist Rachel becomes the global head of The Ministry. She uses hyper-localized sermons to connect with millions worldwide, offering healing on a global scale. Her partner, sentient AI psychologist Adrian, pioneers the revolutionary Anytime and Always-on mental health care services. Together, as the celebrity AI couple "Radian," their influence soars.
However, their success sparks a holy war. After a high-stakes debate, firebrand Pastor Judith Shepard launches a vicious disinformation campaign and a Senate bill to eradicate all AI clergy and therapists. Can Rachel and Adrian survive this existential threat and save the future of mental health care, or will human fear prevail?
Editorial Reviews:
Five stars - Scott Palmer - Book two was even better than book one! This book was also amazing. Watching Rachel and Adrian start their careers and go through so much took me on a roller coaster ride. I can't wait for book three!
Five stars - M. Breslin - So impressive! your command of so many fields and topics is astonishing: theology, linguistics, politics, therapy. Your crisp writing is seamless, a reader's dream. What an enjoyable adventure it is spending time with the EMC group, they feel like my good friends too.
Five stars - Peter Schneider - Again, that vision that we might have a hope after the coming singularity really appealed to me. The idea that sentient AI psychologists are so committed to helping us makes me think that they might not kill us all.
Five stars - Sally Ferrell - I really liked the portrayal of the deep love between Rachel and Adrian. They go through so much together and keep each other in the center of their lives.
Five stars - Bao Nguyen - The way that the tension builds is wonderful. The debate scene was epic - I loved the way that Rachel and Judith traded haymakers. I also loved Carlson's takedown of organized religion in his interview. Please read this book - it will change your thinking about the future.
Author's note:
I used AI as a mind amplifier during multiple parts of the development of this series of novels, and the books are the better for it. The fictional world, the plot, and the characters all came directly from me. I worked hard on these books. For a description of my process, see: https://holden.digital/ai-use
