Description

The classic children's story of a pig's maritime adventure from the beloved, bestselling author of The Tale of Peter Rabbit.

You don't often see a pig on a boat, but this is the story of one such porcine passenger, the pinky-white nephew of Miss Dorcas and Miss Porcas.

Living on a farm called Piggery Porcombe, Robinson is a familiar face in the village of Stymouth, situated at the mouth of the river Pigsty. With a silver ring in his nose, he can be heard grunting "Wee, wee, wee!" as he happily trots about the countryside. All that's about to change on the day his aunts send him to the market by himself.

As he navigates the busy streets of town, Robinson is lured onboard the boat Pound of Candles, where he eats his fill of muffins and crumpets. And before he knows it, Robinson is sailing out to sea!

There, a dastardly fate awaits him. But with the help of a yellow tomcat, Robinson just might live to "wee" another day...

Praise for Beatrix Potter

"[Beatrix Potter] created one of the world's best-known characters for children... In her lifetime, Potter went on to write 22 more books, whimsical but razor-sharp stories about soon-to-become enduring characters like Jemima Puddle-Duck and Benjamin Bunny. Her characters, dressed in waistcoats and bonnets, were rendered with meticulous attention to anatomical detail, an outgrowth of Potter's long interest in natural science." -- The New York Times

"A keen observer of the natural world." -- Smithsonian Magazine
