Description
At the dawn of the 1920s, Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson take passage aboard a Nile steamer, bound for the ancient ruins of Egypt.
Among their fellow passengers are the alluring Lady Verity Frobisher, her younger companion, a watchful jeweller, and a handful of travellers whose lives will soon become fatally entangled.
When Lady Verity is found dead at Karnak, her skull crushed by a fallen stone, the death is dismissed as a tragic accident amid crumbling ruins.
Holmes knows better.
What he uncovers is not one murder, but two -- and a crime executed with chilling precision. Yet certainty is not proof, and this time Holmes faces a rare and bitter truth: the guilty man may escape justice entirely.
A dark, atmospheric mystery set against the shadowed temples of the Nile, where what is known cannot be spoken, and what is proven is not the same as what is true.
